Indigenous Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that Bruce and Grey Counties are on the traditional land of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, which is represented by the Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation. We give thanks to the Saugeen Ojibway Nation as the traditional keepers of this land.
We recognize the Indigenous Peoples of Canada, including the First Nations, the Métis, and the Inuit, whose ancestors shared this land and these waters. With respect, we acknowledge their collective history, spirituality, and culture.
We thank the Indigenous Peoples of Canada for sharing their land so that we may come together in the spirit of reconciliation. We pay tribute to their legacy and we acknowledge that we are all treaty people.
May we all, as Treaty People, live with respect on this land, and live in peace and friendship with all of its diverse peoples.
