In order to keep a teaching certificate in Good Standing and remain on the Occasional Teachers' Roster, teachers must pay the $200 annual membership fee to the Ontario College of Teachers. For teachers who are on contract or are working in an LTO and receiving regular pay, this amount will be deducted from a pay cheque in January. Members working daily occasional work or on leave are responsible for paying the College themselves. This membership fee needs to be paid by April 15th every year in order to continue to be employed by the Bluewater District School Board.
