TENTATIVE AGREEMENT!
TBU Bargaining Update
March 22, 2024
We are pleased to report that after 10 days of bargaining since December 2023, we have reached a tentative agreement with the Bluewater District School Board.
The next step will be to meet with the TBU Council and the Collective Bargaining Committee, both of which include one representative from each school. At that meeting, we will present the changes to both groups, and the TBU Council will vote on a motion to recommend the tentative agreement to the membership.
After that, the usual process is to post copies of the tentative agreement and a summary of the changes in each school, to hold an information meeting for all members, and to hold ratification votes in each school.
More details about the tentative agreement and the ratification process will be available after we meet with CBC and the TBU Council.

TBU Bargaining Priorities Survey
The Collective Bargaining Committee, consisting of the Table Team plus the CBC Reps from each school, met on March 23 and March 30, 2022 to prepare the local bargaining survey. The survey was approved by TBU Council on April 19 and was sent to the membership on April 20, 2022. TBU members were given until Friday, April 29 at 4:00 pm to complete the survey.
The Table Team uses the survey to request input from all members of the Teachers’ Bargaining Unit as we prepare for the next round of bargaining. While it is currently unknown what will be bargained locally versus provincially, we ask that you take the time to complete this survey, as the information gathered will help guide our responses to the provincial negotiating team as well as provide direction for local bargaining.
The information gathered through the survey will be for the sole use of the Table Team. The results of this survey will not be shared with any other party.
