Preparing for Negotiations
The current Collective Agreement expired in August 2022, but is still in effect until a new agreement is negotiated and signed.
The TBU Table Team and Collective Bargaining Committee are preparing for negotiations, but bargaining must occur at the provincial level before anything substantive happens at the local level. Local negotiations can only involve items or issues that are not negotiated at the provincial bargaining table.
When we receive information about central negotiations, and when we have information to share about local negotiations, we will share it with our members via email. Please ensure that you have provided an up-to-date email address to the Teachers' Bargaining Unit. Current TBU members who do not receive our email communications should email us at osstfd7@gmail.com and ask to be added to our mailing list.

TBU Bargaining Priorities Survey
The Collective Bargaining Committee, consisting of the Table Team plus the CBC Reps from each school, met on March 23 and March 30, 2022 to prepare the local bargaining survey. The survey was approved by TBU Council on April 19 and was sent to the membership on April 20, 2022. TBU members were given until Friday, April 29 at 4:00 pm to complete the survey.
The Table Team uses the survey to request input from all members of the Teachers’ Bargaining Unit as we prepare for the next round of bargaining. While it is currently unknown what will be bargained locally versus provincially, we ask that you take the time to complete this survey, as the information gathered will help guide our responses to the provincial negotiating team as well as provide direction for local bargaining.
The information gathered through the survey will be for the sole use of the Table Team. The results of this survey will not be shared with any other party.
