In the coming year, we will add more content to this page that highlights our deep and rich history as a union for education workers in Ontario. We look forward to continuing our celebrations into 2019, and to another 100 years of protecting and enhancing public education in Ontario. September 30th has been declared Orange Shirt Day annually, in recognition of the harm the residential school system did to children's sense of self-esteem and well being, and as an affirmation of our commitment to ensure that everyone around us matters.
Phyllis (Jack) Webstad's story in her own words... Kevin Smith (representing Grey-Bruce Labour Council and OSSTFD7-OPT BU) and Krista McCormick (representing OSSTFD-ESP BU) attended a BBQ-Rally for OPSEU 276 who are on strike at the Family Health Organization in Owen Sound. The President of OPSEU, Warren ‘Smokey’ Thomas was in attendance at yesterday’s BBQ-Rally and has indicated that it is time to increase the actions. Both the OSSTF District 7 and the ESP BU have provided a donation to support our Brothers and Sisters in their pursuit of a fair offer!
Amanda Cook, EA at Saugeen District Secondary School, was the big winner at our Annual General Meeting in May. Amanda is wearing the new OSSTF District 7 ESP Hoodie!
