TBU PD Lottery
As a resolution to a grievance, TBU received funds in 2019 to be used for member professional development (PD).
The TBU held a lottery to disburse the funds, which can be used by TBU members to partake in professional development activities related to their teaching practice.
At the December 2, 2019 meeting of the TBU Executive, the draw was held to determine the winners of the TBU PD Lottery. The notices to members advertising the draw were sent out on November 8, 12, and 22, and the deadline for entries was November 30, 2019. There were 113 entries in the draw, out of a possible 331 members on the seniority list at that time. An online random number generator was used to generate numbers, and the corresponding row was highlighted on the spreadsheet containing entrants’ names. Thirty TBU members’ names were selected, and these members now have $1000 each to spend on PD and/or an AQ or ABQ course, following the rules in the PDF below.
Please note that all receipts submitted for reimbursement by the winning members must be dated between December 3, 2019 (the day after the winners were drawn and announced) and December 31, 2021.

TBU SENIORITY LISTS
Members make frequent requests for up-to-date seniority lists, but must be aware that the board does not provide the bargaining unit with an updated list after each hire, transfer, or retirement.
The TBU Collective Agreement states that “The seniority list shall be posted in all work locations and copies forwarded to the President of the Bargaining Unit no later than October 31 and March 1 of each school year” (15.05.01, page 44).
The TBU Seniority Lists below are the most recent we have received from the board: February 26, 2021.
To protect members' privacy, these documents are password-protected. Members can find the password in the most recent newsletter, which has been emailed to you.
