In District 7, Bluewater, the provincial OSSTF Employee Life and Health Trust owns most benefits plans, including Group Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance, Extended Health Care Insurance, Dental Insurance, and Travel Insurance. The Long-Term Disability Insurance plan is owned by the provincial OSSTF organization.

OSSTF District 7 members who are covered by an OTIP LTD plan can access the following:
Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)
OSSTF members have access to Starling Minds, which is a confidential, self-guided digital program that helps you manage stress, anxiety, burnout and depression. It is available 24/7, immediate, private, and tailored just for you. Learn to proactively build daily habits that help you better manage your mental fitness and take control of your life and well-being.
Carepath
OSSTF members have access to Carepath, a Canadian organization founded by leading oncologists and cancer nurses who have dedicated their careers to helping Canadians with cancer. OTIP and Carepath have partnered to provide Carepath's Cancer Navigation System to help support Ontario educators and their families through the burden of cancer. If you, your spouse, or dependent child have been recently diagnosed with cancer, or a cancer recurrence, contact Carepath.
For program access, you'll need your Bargaining Unit's LTD policy number.

Download your Benefits T4A slip
You can download the previous year's T4A slip from OTIP’s secure member site at www.otip.com between February 28 and May 1 of each year. After May 1, you can visit the Canada Revenue Agency to access your T4A slip.

You may have received an email (February-March) from OSSTF Benefits about summer deductions. Please note that this memo applies only to members on a 10-month pay schedule; TBU members are paid on a 12-month pay schedule.

OSSTF ELHT Life Insurance Beneficiary
ALL members should ensure that they have completed and submitted a life insurance beneficiary designation form to OTIP. This includes members who transitioned from our locally-run benefits plan to the provincial OSSTF benefits plan in February 2017, and members hired since February 2017.
Any life insurance designation forms that were completed prior to the transition to the provincial benefits plan cannot be used for the new plan.
Members also need to update their forms when life events occur which impact the beneficiary designation (birth, death, marriage, divorce, etc.).
